Marist Basketball Club can’t function and exist without the contributions of volunteers. The role of team manager is a simple, yet very important role that keeps the season running smoothly.
Role of the Manager
• Send out weekly game time reminders to parents
• Draw up bench duty rosters for families at the start of the season
• Talk to the Age Group Coordinator to find fill in players where needed (note: fill ins should only be used where there are 6 or less players available)
• Collect all items for the kit at the end of the season: singlets, balls, coach bag and training shirts. The kit must be returned to the equipment manager.
• Be the conduit between the Club and the team
• If you have students as coaches – ensure parents do not approach the student coaches at any time. All queries from parents must go directly to the team manager
• Coordinate your team photos session (and attend)

How do I access team contact lists?
Once registered in PlayHQ, the registrar will grant team coaches and managers ‘view’ access for their team. This allows them to access their team (‘squad’), and player contact details. Access is as follows:
- Log into your PlayHQaccount – If you have more than one account, log into the account associated with your coaching/managing registration. Your access is via that registration.
- Select the tab for your profile – If there are multiple profiles in your account (parents, children, or siblings), ensure you select your profile; the access is only available through your profile.
- Select the ‘My Teams’ tab – If you have multiple sports linked to your account, check you are viewing the ‘Basketball ACT’ teams (switch sports if needed).
- Select the team you are coaching/managing – If you have multiple teams, check you have accessed the right team.
- Select the ‘Squad’ tab.
- Select the ‘Arrow’ for each player individually to access their contact details. If you cannot see the arrows on the right-hand side of each player, please scroll across.

The preferred method of communication for our team is via our team’s ‘Group’ in the Marist Basketball “WhatsApp” Community. This app can be downloaded from the Apple and Android App Stores. You can join the Marist Basketball Community using the link below, and then select the groups that you would like access to: https://chat.whatsapp.com/Dkuo4ALDBmW64UC6GGkuXC.
You might like to send out an email to parents and carers at the start of the season with a welcome email and bench roster. We have a template suggested letter here: Welcome email to team.
